Sister Chix Tea Luncheon and Retreat

To the Beautiful Woman That God Sees...

If you are a widow or a divorced woman we'd like to share with you information about a one day retreat we are planning to provide you with an opportunity to fellowship with other women who are in the same, difficult season of life.

This group started as a result of a dinner one of our "chix" gave on New Year's Eve in 2013 for every woman in the area who was either widowed or divorced. It was never meant to be anything else other than something to do on a night that can be painful without the companionship of our husbands.

However, God did a wonderful work that night. He brought the beginning of healing for the ladies that night through the love and support of the other ladies there. We enjoyed being able to share with each other so much that we decided to meet every month.

Each month we get together for lunch and share what’s been happening in our lives since we were last together. We laugh, we cry, we support each other, pray with each other, study the Word of God together and, of course, have dessert together which we never do until we've had a devotional first (our rule).  🙂

The mission of Sister Chix is to support each other through acts of service, emotional support, sharing meals, devotional time and prayer, and encouraging each other to fully trust and depend on the Lord for all our needs. We seek to help each other learn how to make Jesus the love of our lives and look to Him for all our needs rather than entering too quickly, out of fear or loneliness, into another relationship. And our goal from the start was to reach out to other women in this same time of life and share how they might start their own group in their own church. Six years later, we feel we are ready to try to take on that goal.

That being said, we are now planning a 1-day Royal Bridal Tea Retreat on October 17, 2020. We thought a bridal tea would be a beautiful representation of women who want to learn how to lean on Jesus as our provider, protector and companion since the loss of our husbands. As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. (Isaiah 62:5).

The day will be filled with food, fellowship, praise and worship, thought provoking topics and discussion groups (see our enclosed retreat schedule).  You will leave feeling refreshed, hopeful, loved and affirmed and with information on how to start an outreach to widows and divorced women in your own church and community. Blessings in Christ,

The Sister Chix
